  • The Upsetters were Lee Perry's recording outfit and, far from a fixed entity, a name given to whatever session musicians played on Perry's productions. The name 'The Upsetters' is linked to Perry's Upsetter Records label and ultimately came from his 1967 rocksteady hit 'The Upsetter', in which Lee Perry proudly proclaimed himself 'the avenger, the upsetter', bane of his foes in the Jamaican.
  • Scratch The Upsetter Again surfaced early in 1970 as a largely instrumental set but with dreamy reverb a hefty feature and keyboards veering away from standard organ motifs. Dave Barker who was soon to hit the pop charts as part of Dave & Ansel Collins tackles The Shirelles Will You Still Love Me in soul reggae mode only for Perry to shift.

Re-release of the original 1970 The Upsetters album with ten bonus tracks on CD. Recorded under the leadership of Lee 'Scratch' Perry, the work is considered a Dub classic. Contributors to the album are Count Prince Miller, Alva Lewis and Dave Barker. In 1972 the original line up of the Upsetters was to be dissolved and some of their members were to be taken over by The Wailers (the backing band of Bob Marley).

Originally issued by Trojan at the start of 1970, Scratch The Upsetter Again illustrates Perry taking a contemplative glance further into the realm of instrumental sound.
